Zelda coming to Monster Hunter 4?

Good news for fans of the Zelda series and Monster Hunter: Link's costume and weapons are coming to Capcom's Monster Hunter 4.

Capcom revealed the addition to the 3DS monster hunting series on its blog. The trailer for the reveal shows the in-game character in full Hyrulian regalia, including a Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and a bow. But wait, there's more. He plays an instrument that doesn't look anything like the ocarina inThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (but we all know what it's supposed to be), shoots a gun, and throws the shield Captain America-style.

The Link-like monster hunter also throws a boomerang and makes very Hero-of-Time-like sounds when performing actions such as attacking and jumping. Oddly, the voice effects resemble the classic "kid Link" more than the mature Link to which the character bears the most obvious, physical resemblance.

Monster Hunter 4 on 3DS is coming out in the first quarter of 2015, so it should be a good place for fans of the Legend of Zelda series to scratch that Link itch. With Hyrule Warriors releasing in September, and the gorgeous Wii U entry into the Zelda series having a nebulous "2015" release window, fans will do well to dress their Monster Hunter 4 character as Nintendo's timeless hero.
