Game of Thrones: Episode 3 - The Sword in the Darkness images

Telltale has released the first batch of screenshots for Game of Thrones: Episode 3 - The Sword in the Darkness.

The screenshots, which you can see below, confirm what we suspected after the teaser image released earlier in the week - Dragons will indeed be part of the episode.

Alongside Drogon, other images show Cersei Lannister in the throne room and Tyrion being arrested, hinting at what's to come. The inclusion of Jon and Gared at the wall, along with a number of the Night's Watch kneeling before a Heart Tree lends credence to the theory we may be spending a lot of time at the wall in this episode, especially given the title.

Bungie's Destiny, writer Joshua Rubin is departing the studio

After two years working on Bungie's Destiny, writer Joshua Rubin is departing the studio to work on Telltale Games' upcoming Game of Thrones project.

"It's a privilege to be working on Telltale's Game of Thrones," Rubin said via Twitter. "I am such a massive fan of the HBO show!"

Rubin previously served as the lead writer at Visceral Games and Capcom, and penned the script for Assassin's Creed II,

Rubin said that, despite his years of experience writing video games, he has a high bar to meet.

"[David] Benioff and [D.B.] Weiss have set an incredibly high standard for writing," Rubin said. "I'm inspired by their work every season. I’m gonna have to up my game!"


Telltale confirmed development on the Game of Thrones project in December, saying the game won't be a prequel to the HBO show, but instead run parallel to the series. Not much else is known about the game, but HBO announced it would be a "multi-year, multi-title partnership between Telltale and HBO Global Licensing, targeted to premiere digitally in 2014 with an episodic game series for home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices. Specific platform details are yet to be announced."
