Xbox's GamesCom

Microsoft's press conference at Gamescom 2014 showed the platform's deepening commitment to games, but it wasn't without a few notable entertainment and hardware updates.

Here is all of the biggest Xbox news of the day in one place.

)1. Rise of the Tomb Raider will be Xbox-exclusive when it launches in 2015

)2. The Halo 5: Guardians beta won't be the usual sort of Halo experience we've come to expect. The grander scale of Halo 4 will be dialed down to focus on more tense, intimate 4v4 fights in seven smaller arenas.

)3. Halo 2's Sanctuary is getting a full-on reboot in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Plus, The Halo Channel was announced, and if you're into learning about the series, love watching pro players, or just want a preview of upcoming stuff, this could be great.

)4. Evolve beta on Xbox One kicks off in January and All Evolve DLC will come to Xbox first.

)5. Smite, the 3rd person MOBA, will be coming to consoles, starting with Xbox One. It was one of several games announced as part of the ID@Xbox initiative. Joining Smite are a slew of other games, including the time-bending indie FPS Superhot, Capy's immersive-looking dungeon crawler Below, and a Team 17 published prison break game called The Escapists.

)6. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will be getting an Xbox One hardware bundle on November 3rd, and it will include, among other things, a whopping 1 TB hard drive. For 499.99

)7. Zoo Tycoon developer Frontier is developing Screamride, Microsoft announced during its Gamescom 2014 media briefing. The new IP launches in 2015 exclusively on Xbox.
