Assassin's Creed Victory confirmed for fall 2015

2015's Assassin's Creed game has leaked, and it takes place in 19th century London during the Victorian era, Kotaku reports.

According to "a person familiar with the game," it's called (either officially or internally) Assassin's Creed Victory, and it's coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC in fall 2015.

Kotaku also reports seeing seven minutes of "target gameplay footage," which they say was produced in Assassin's Creed's engine, and thus was not pre-rendered.

In the video, the assassin climbs a tower to get a view of the city, descends, enters a carriage, and accepts a contract to kill a man. When the carriage is attacked, the assassin battles on top of the moving vehicle. The fight makes its way to a train station where the assassin ascends to the high ground, swings across the station using a grappling hook -- a new item for the series -- and takes out the target.

Ubisoft has responded with the following comment: (Via IGN)

"It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players."

Dead Island: Epidemic Announced

More Dead Island is on the way, but this time the zombies are going free-to-play! and only on PC. Publisher Deep Silver just announced Dead Island: Epidemic, is a online multiplayer battle arena. It's supposed to take place in the "Dead Island universe," so it sounds like Deep Silver has big plans for this franchise. Indeed, the publisher urges us to stay tuned for more on Dead Island in general. For Epidemic, we can expect all the "trademark elements" of the Dead Island experience, which one can assume means fighting zombies in an open world with an emphasis on melee combat and silly weapons like electrocuted machetes. But since this is a multiplayer battle arena, it is unclear whether or not we'll get to play as zombies. Epidemic will be the third Dead Island game, following the original in 2011 and this year's Dead Island: Riptide. Both were released for 360 and PS3 as well as PC. They were developed by Techland, but today's announcement didn't mention who is developing Epidemic. Techland is working on another zombie game called Dying Light for next-gen consoles. Further corrected the alignment of holographic sights on pistols.

Summoning Deathtrap with "Sharing is Caring" enabled no longer causes a Turtle shield's health penalties to be applied twice.

Adjusted drop rates of unique items from Doc Mercy, Mad Dog, Savage Lee and McNally to be more consistent across all modes.

A hot fix is automatically applied at the "Press Start" screen when Borderlands 2 is connected to the internet. In general, hot fixes are used to temporarily address issues between major updates. Hot fixes are not permanent -- they are temporarily stored in memory during the game session and lost upon exiting Borderlands 2.

To ensure that you receive hot fixes, make sure that your system is connected to the internet when Borderlands 2 boots up. A hot fix differs from an update in that an update contains changes that are permanently stored on your system and only needs to be downloaded once.
