Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters #1 will be released in October 2014.

Both the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters franchises are celebrating their 30th anniversaries this year. And while fans of the former have a bit more reason to celebrate lately, at least we can look forward to one project that sees the Turtles and the Ghostbusters finally cross paths after all these years.

IDW recently announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters, a four-issue mini-series that will pair both heroic quartets. The series will be handled by some IDW mainstays with plenty of experience with both properties - co-writers Tom Waltz and Erik Burnham and artist Dan Schoening.

“This is an idea that Erik, series editor Bobby Curnow, and I have bounced off each other for quite a while,” said Waltz in IDW's press release. “And being as deeply entrenched in both properties as the three of us are gives us a unique perspective on how to bring them together. And what better time to do it than during the combined 30th year anniversary celebration?”

“Both Ghostbusters and Turtles are fun, funny and just a little bit weird,” said Curnow. “So putting the two together is a natural choice, especially when you consider the fact that Tom and Erik have worked on both properties for years. This one should be an absolute blast!”

Other than the title and creative team, we don't know much about this new project. Will Shredder be unleashing the power of the netherworld? Will Stay-Puft battle Krang? One thing is clear - in the wake of big crossovers like Infestation and X-Files: Conspiracy, this isn't the weirdest pairing we've seen from IDW.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters #1 will be released in October 2014.

Zelda coming to Monster Hunter 4?

Good news for fans of the Zelda series and Monster Hunter: Link's costume and weapons are coming to Capcom's Monster Hunter 4.

Capcom revealed the addition to the 3DS monster hunting series on its blog. The trailer for the reveal shows the in-game character in full Hyrulian regalia, including a Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and a bow. But wait, there's more. He plays an instrument that doesn't look anything like the ocarina inThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (but we all know what it's supposed to be), shoots a gun, and throws the shield Captain America-style.

The Link-like monster hunter also throws a boomerang and makes very Hero-of-Time-like sounds when performing actions such as attacking and jumping. Oddly, the voice effects resemble the classic "kid Link" more than the mature Link to which the character bears the most obvious, physical resemblance.

Monster Hunter 4 on 3DS is coming out in the first quarter of 2015, so it should be a good place for fans of the Legend of Zelda series to scratch that Link itch. With Hyrule Warriors releasing in September, and the gorgeous Wii U entry into the Zelda series having a nebulous "2015" release window, fans will do well to dress their Monster Hunter 4 character as Nintendo's timeless hero.

Call of Duty World at War 2!

Xbox One box-art, allegedly for Call of Duty: World At War II, has cropped up online and is reported to have appeared on Amazon as a placeholder for developer Treyarch’s next title in the popular shooter series.

Sledgehammer Games is currently working on the latest Call of Duty game with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare due to launch on November 14, 2014. As part of Activision’s deal with Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward and Treyarch, each developer will be taking turns creating Call of Duty titles and working on a three-year development plan. This does mean that we should expect a game from Treyarch in 2015.

However, even if Treyarch is working on World At War II it seems way too earlier for a placeholder to appear for a game that wouldn’t likely launch until Q4 2015. We smell a rat regarding this particular piece of artwork, which doesn't look very professionally put together.

We’ve scouted around and the only source for the box-art is GamerHeadlines who don’t offer up a link to the original placeholder on Amazon. After scouring around, we can’t find the image anywhere else online.

What do you think?
