Xbox One games will stream to any Windows 10 PC or tablet

Windows 10 and Xbox One will interact in a variety of ways, including streaming Xbox One games to the Windows 10 PCs and tablets in your home, according to announcements made by Head of Xbox Phil Spencer at today's Microsoft event. In a live demo, Forza Horizon 2 streamed from an Xbox One to a Microsoft Surface. Streaming will require a one time set up to establish a relationship between the devices, after which Xbox One games can be accessed on a Windows 10 device by clicking on the game's name in the Windows 10 Xbox App.

Spencer also noted that some Xbox One games' multiplayer modes will connect with Windows 10 devices. "We think enabling people to play multiplayer games on Windows 10, across Xbox One and Windows 10 will unlock the potential of Xbox Live."

A new Battletoads game coming?!

A new Battletoads game coming?!

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer hinted yet again at the announcement of a new Battletoads during today's Windows 10 event. Spencer, known for wearing t-shirts promoting upcoming Xbox games, sported a green tee with a large Battletoads logo, though he never mentioned the game by name. Microsoft filed for the Battletoads trademark in November of last year.

The original Battletoads, created by Rare, was a beat 'em up released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991. Microsoft acquired Rare in 2003, along with many of its properties. Spencer himself has mentioned his fandom for the franchise, though a new Battletoads hasn't been released in over two decades.

Call of Duty World at War 2!

Xbox One box-art, allegedly for Call of Duty: World At War II, has cropped up online and is reported to have appeared on Amazon as a placeholder for developer Treyarch’s next title in the popular shooter series.

Sledgehammer Games is currently working on the latest Call of Duty game with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare due to launch on November 14, 2014. As part of Activision’s deal with Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward and Treyarch, each developer will be taking turns creating Call of Duty titles and working on a three-year development plan. This does mean that we should expect a game from Treyarch in 2015.

However, even if Treyarch is working on World At War II it seems way too earlier for a placeholder to appear for a game that wouldn’t likely launch until Q4 2015. We smell a rat regarding this particular piece of artwork, which doesn't look very professionally put together.

We’ve scouted around and the only source for the box-art is GamerHeadlines who don’t offer up a link to the original placeholder on Amazon. After scouring around, we can’t find the image anywhere else online.

What do you think?

Thanks PSU.com for the info

New Microsoft Security features to help account holders

Entertainment apps to carry Achievements, Microsoft confirms

Entertainment apps to carry Achievements, Microsoft confirms.

"Xbox One is empowering partners to bring media achievements andexclusive Snap experiences, as well as many other things to entertainment apps," said Microsoft in an update on Xbox Wire, "offering everybody the opportunity to achieve badges or rewards for the media they consume in addition to gaming."

The entertainment Achievements appear to be different to Xbox One's Challenges, the time-restricted tasks that do not reward Gamerscore, although it isn't yet clear whether entertainment Achievements will carry Gamerscore.

New Xbox One News

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One console will not support vertical orientation. The company stated that gamers who choose to stand the console vertically will risk damaging it. The statement comes after the company realized that the Xbox 360 console, which supported vertical orientation, would make owners think that the Xbox One will do the same. Xbox One will be available starting November 22, 2013 for North America and most European markets.

Games With Gold, September 2013: Free Magic 2013 and Rainbow Six Vegas

Xbox Live Gold subscribers can download Magic 2013 and Rainbow Six Vegas for free during two separate, two-week spans this month as the latest games in the Games With Gold promotion.

Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 can be had for free now through September 15, at which point it will return to its regular price of $9.99. (Xbox Live now uses real-world currency in lieu of Microsoft Points). Magic 2013 received an 8.5 in IGN's review, and while it's no longer the most current version of the game available,  Magic 2014 was released in June, it's still an accessible way to get into Magic.

Once the Magic 2013 deal runs its course, Rainbow Six Vegas will be free to Xbox Live Gold members starting on September 16. (Gamers in South America will instead get Shadowrun for free). Vegas' regular price of $19.99 will return at the end of the month. Although it's now almost seven years old, Vegas remains a strong game with an entertaining cooperative multiplayer mode in Terrorist Hunt.

PS4 and Xbox one release dates in the UK?!

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be available in the UK within two weeks of each other, if a set of leaked dates from retailer Toys'R'Us are to be believed.
BT Games reports that the Xbox One will be available in Britain on November 29, while the PlayStation 4 will arrive on December 13.
When Toys'R'Us was contacted for comment about whether these were simply placeholder dates or if they had a factual basis, a spokesperson replied, "I can confirm this information has been given direct from our suppliers and is accurate."
Following this, Microsoft released the following clarification: "We have announced that Xbox One will launch this November, but have not shared any further details. It’s common practice for retailers to use placeholder dates for pre-order items without an official launch date. Please stay tuned to news.xbox.com, where we share the latest official details about all things Xbox One."
So, are these the official launch dates? While it's certainly possible, there's nothing to suggest that suppliers aren't using placeholder dates as well. We know that the Xbox One will be available at some stage in November, and the PlayStation 4 before the end of the year. Seeing as there have been mutterings already this year that the PlayStation 4 will arrive in November, it's impossible to discern which dates are accurate and which aren't.
Until Sony and Microsoft come out and say something official, we're going to have to make do with speculation. With Gamescom coming later this month though, there's every chance that we may hear something concrete soon.

Forza

Forza 5 will be released exclusively on the xbox one. 1080p resolution at 60 frames per-second and, i've heard rumors it will have a rally car and off-road pack as DLC. Lets just hope they take off all the restrictions they thought of. the game looks great though. if you like racing games and your thinking of buying the xbox one, this should be your first pick.

Free Xbox games

Have an Xbox with a gold live?! well if you do here some free games you can download Crackdown kicks off August's Games With Gold promotion this month, and will be free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers from August 1-15. Crackdown's open world, super-hero-esque powers, and alluring collectibles made it one of the most interesting and entertaining surprises on Xbox 360 when it released in 2007. On August 16, both Dead Rising 2 and its downloadable prequel episode, Case Zero, will be free for Gold members. Case Zero only lasts a few hours, but it's a great little story setup and introduction to the main game's excellent crafting system, impressive open world, and absurd sense of humor. Remember, you only need to initiate the download to add these games to your library forever, so even if you're not going to play them right away, it can't hurt to grab them for later.
